Is the GenAI and agentic AI course for solution architects worth it? Cost, time and fit test

Is GenAI & Agentic AI for Solution Architects Worth It?

Table of Contents

Written by the AgileFever editorial team. Program details were checked against the live program pages in October 2026. We teach this course, so weigh this as a vendor view. The course details come from its program page.

Short answer. It is worth it if you are being asked to design AI features and want a structured way to defend platform, cost, security and integration choices. It is not worth it if you want to build agents in code, or if nobody around you is asking AI questions yet.

Courses are easy to justify afterward. This post tries to do it before, with a cost, a time commitment and a check on whether the content matches the job you actually do.

What you would be buying

The course has ten modules, ending in a capstone. The listed topics are platform and vendor decision framework, architecture documents and RFP automation, RAG architecture, multi-agent architecture, LLMOps and deployment, cost modelling, AI security architecture, legacy integration, governance and rollout, and the capstone. The course FAQ says about 9 hours go to architecting AI systems and about 2 hours to using AI in your own work.

How the 16 hours are described

From the course FAQ; the rest goes to the platform framework and capstone

Using AI in your own workabout 2 h
Other (framework, capstone)about 5 h

A test of whether it fits you

Question If yes If no
Are you being asked AI questions in design reviews? The course targets that gap directly Wait until the questions start, or take a shorter overview first
Do you need to defend cost, security and integration choices? Modules 6 to 8 cover exactly this The course will feel abstract
Do you want to write RAG pipelines and agents yourself? Look at the GenAI and Agentic AI BootCamp instead The no-code format suits you
Do you decide AI strategy and budgets rather than designs? AI Transformation for Business Leaders may fit better Continue

What to check before you pay

  • Look at the capstone brief and decide on a use case from your own company, because the capstone is the part you can reuse.
  • Confirm that you meet the prerequisite. The page expects cloud familiarity.
  • Ask what is excluded: it does not teach hands-on coding of agents or RAG.

Sixteen hours is enough to make sound design decisions. It is not enough to become fluent in every framework. For a skills view, read the six AI skills architects are asked about, and for interviews see AI solution architect interview prep. The course page is GenAI & Agentic AI for Solution Architects.

Questions people ask

Do I need to code?

No. You need Python for AI as pre-work so you can read code and talk to engineers, but the course is design work.

Is it tied to one cloud?

No. The platform decision framework compares providers and the patterns apply across clouds.

Does it include recordings?

Yes. Live sessions are recorded.
