Most AI projects that fail don’t fail because of the technology. A 2024 RAND study, based on interviews with experienced data scientists and engineers, found that by some estimates more than 80% of AI projects fail, and that the most common root causes were organizational. At the top of the list: leaders misunderstanding or miscommunicating what problem the AI was supposed to solve.
AI Transformation for Business Leaders is a 16-hour program built around that problem. It doesn’t teach you to build anything. It teaches you to decide what to build, what to stop, and how to get the organization to use it. This guide covers what’s in it, who it fits, and who should take something else.

What the nine modules cover
| # | Module | The decision it helps you make |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | The AI landscape for decision-makers | What AI can and can’t do for your business today |
| 2 | Discovering and prioritizing use cases | Which ideas are worth funding first |
| 3 | Business case and roadmap | What it takes to move from proof of concept to pilot to production, and the gates in between |
| 4 | Governance and responsible AI | Who signs off on what, and which risks need controls |
| 5 | Vendor and platform evaluation | Whether to build, buy, or partner |
| 6 | Change management and adoption | How to get people to actually use it, using ADKAR and AI champions |
| 7 | Delivery management and executive reporting | How to track progress and report it to a board |
| 8 | Why AI projects fail | Seven failure drivers and how to spot them early |
| 9 | Final project | Your own AI Transformation Playbook, presented to a mock executive panel |
The final project is the part most people find useful afterward. You arrive with a use case from your own business, or a realistic hypothetical one, and leave with a playbook you can take into your next planning meeting.
Where the program puts its weight
Only one of the nine modules is about AI as a technology. The rest are about decisions, people, and delivery. That’s deliberate, and it matches what the RAND research points to.
Modules grouped by their main subject

Who it’s for
The program lists founders and CEOs, COOs, AI transformation managers, directors of strategy, and PMO or portfolio leads as typical participants. What they have in common is that they decide where AI money goes, or are accountable when it doesn’t pay off.
It fits best if one of these is true:
- You’ve been asked for an AI strategy and don’t know where to start
- Your company has run a few AI pilots and none have reached production
- You’re about to choose between vendors and want a way to compare them that isn’t the sales deck
- You need to explain AI risk to a board or regulator
Who should take something else
| If you are… | A better fit |
|---|---|
| Early in your career, without management experience | The AI Blueprint (4 hours) for a foundation |
| A product owner or product manager | GenAI & Agentic AI for Product Owners/Managers (12 hours) |
| A solution or enterprise architect | GenAI & Agentic AI for Solution Architects (16 hours) |
| Someone who wants to build AI systems | The GenAI and Agentic AI BootCamp |
Cost and dates

FAQ
Do I need to know anything technical?
No. The first module covers what you need to know about the technology, at the level of a decision-maker.
Is there an exam?
No written exam. The final project, presented to a mock executive panel, is the assessment, and you receive a certificate when you complete it.
Can I use a real project from my company?
Yes, and it’s encouraged. Bring a use case you’re actually considering. If confidentiality is a concern, a realistic hypothetical works too.
Is four days enough?
For making better decisions, yes. The program won’t make you an AI specialist, and it isn’t trying to. It’s meant to help you ask better questions of the specialists you already have or are about to hire.
